Hangover Treatment—Generally, alcohol metabolizes in vivo in two stages: First, in the alcohol dehydrogenase converting the alcohol into acetaldehyde and, second, in the aldehyde dehydrogenase converting the CH.sub.3 CHO into acetate. Excess acetaldehyde, is a toxic substance that can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, dizziness, ataxia, confused consciousness -- in short, all the symptoms associated with being inebriated. The problems associated with the consumption of alcohol can be alleviated generally by diverting some of the conversion of acetate from the liver to the stomach and, more particularly, by additionally supporting this gastral process by providing ingestible substances reducing the rate of alcohol conversion into acetaldehyde. Extracts of Pueraria root are such substances occurring in nature. Effectiveness—Taken before drinking alcohol, the usual symptoms, such as nausea, headaches, etc., accompanying alcoholic intoxication are substantially avoided. Taken after drinking, Jiusheng Dadang will also help to prevent or alleviate many hangover symptoms. Pueraria Root—The primary ingredient of Jiusheng Dadang remedy is Pueraria root. Pueraria DC, a perennial deciduous vine of the family Leguminosae, is native to China. Its root is a source of medicinal preparations used in traditional Chinese medicine and modern herbal products. Extracts of Pueraria root containing a variety of isoflavones have long been utilized to treat alcohol intoxication, hangovers, and alcoholism safely and effectively. Safe—Unlike many Western medical therapies, there have been no known reports of adverse side effects or reports of toxicity associated with Pueraria root.

Directions: Jiusheng Dadang comes in a box with two 5-gram packages containing 5 tablets each. It is recommended that you take both packages by chewing the tablets or by taking them with water fifteen minutes before if you expect to drink heavily. Another option is to take the contents of one package before or while drinking and the other package after you finish drinking.
